1972 1800ES. I bought the car from my father-in-law in 1983. He purchased the car brand-new in 1972. I have the original invoice and 1972 sales literature. I used the car as a daily driver from 1983 to 1991 and it's been sitting in my garage since then. I got tired of watching it sit so I started to restore it last March. All of the rust has been cut-out and replaced with metal by the same craftsman who restored Pierre Elliot Trudeau's Mercedes. I've spent $5000 on the metal work and there's definitely no rust to worry about. The worst part of the restoration is done and the rest will be easy for you, if you're up to it. Unfortunately, the Illinois winters have taken their toll since then and the car has the usual rocker panel rust. Interior is good - the usual cracked dash.
